One injured in a single vehicle collision on KY 70

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Michael Taylor, age 20 of Kuttawa, KY, was operating a 2002 Ford Explorer eastbound on KY 70 approximately 2 miles east of Dycusburg. Mr. Taylor lost control of the vehicle and it exited the roadway. The vehicle struck a concrete culvert and a utility pole causing it to overturn. Members of the Salem Volunteer Fire Department had use mechanical means to extricate Mr. Taylor from the vehicle. Mr. Taylor was transported via PHI Air Medical to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN for treatment. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Trooper Jon McGehee investigated the crash that occurred on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at approximately 3:03 a.m. The Salem Volunteer Fire Department, Crittenden County EMS, and PHI Air Medical assisted at the scene.
