Injury collision on the Western Kentucky Parkway

Date of News Release: 05/28/2011

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Kenya G. Fowler, age 28, of Nortonville, KY was driving eastbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway. Donald W. James, age 29, of Greenville, KY was also traveling eastbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway ahead of Ms. Fowler. As Ms. Fowler approached Mr. James, she failed to move over in time to overtake Mr. James's vehicle, and struck him in the rear. This collision caused Mr. James's vehicle to turn into the left hand lane and continue across the median. After Mr. James crossed the westbound lanes, he proceeded off the roadway where he struck a group of trees. Ms. Fowler's vehicle came to final rest in the eastbound left lane where her and her four-year-old daughter, Cheyenne Fowler, exited the vehicle. Mr. James sustained injuries due to the collision and was taken to the Muhlenberg Community hospital by Muhlenberg EMS. Ms. Fowler and her daughter Cheyenne did not sustain any injures from the collision. All parties involved were wearing their seatbelts.
