Two injured in a two car collision on KY 70

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Shyain Enix, age 22 of Central City, KY, was operating a 1984 Ford F-150 eastbound on KY 70 approaching the intersection of KY 181. Eugene Randal, age 34 of Jasper, AL, was operating a 1999 Jeep Wrangler southbound on KY 181 and stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of KY 181 and KY 70. As Mr. Randal began to accelerate from the stop sign, Ms. Enix stated she believes her brakes went out and was not able to get her vehicle stopped. Ms Enix traveled through the stop sign and struck Mr. Randal's vehicle on the right side. Her vehicle then continued traveling east on KY 70 where it came to final rest in the Oglesby's Store parking lot. Ms. Enix and her passenger, Larry M. Edmonds, age 33 of Central City, KY, were transported by ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Mr. Randal was not injured. All parties were wearing seatbelts. Trooper Brandon McPherson investigated the crash that occurred on Monday, May 02, 2011 at 12:20 p.m. Trooper Craig Engler, Muhlenberg County EMS, and the Bremen Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
