One injured in a two vehicle collision on US 60

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Betty J. Williams, age 57 of Kuttawa, Ky., was operating a 2007 Pontiac G6 westbound on US 60 when she lost control of her vehicle on the slippery roadway in a curve. The vehicle exited the left side of the roadway and struck an earth embankment causing it to overturn. It then struck a culvert before overturning again. The vehicle landed upright and accelerated back onto US 60 where it struck a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck operated by Jonathon H. Martin, age 32 of Marion, KY. Ms. Williams was transported via ambulance to the Crittenden County Hospital where she was treated and released. Mr. Martin was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Trooper First Class Darron Holliman investigated the crash that occurred on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 8:55 a.m. Trooper First Class Chris King, Crittenden County EMS, and the State Highway Department assisted at the scene.
