Injury collision on KY132 in Webster County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Jacob Bumpus, age 27 of Slaughters, KY, was operating a 2000 International dump truck (Webster County Highway Department Salt Truck) westbound on KY 132 in the limits of Dixon. As the vehicle was traveling down a hill and through a curve, it stalled causing the vehicle to lose its steering. The dump truck exited the right side of the roadway and overturned. It came to rest overturned on the driver's side. Mr. Bumpus and his passenger, Derrick Parrish age 28 of Dixon, KY, were transported via ambulance to Methodist Hospital in Henderson for treatment. Both men were wearing seat belts. Trooper First Class Darron Holliman investigated the crash that occurred on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 7:40 a.m. Dixon Rescue Squad, Webster County EMS, and the Webster County Highway Department assisted at the scene.
