Non-Injury Collision on I-24

Date of News Release: 12/27/2011

(Mayfield, KY) -- Mrs. Lori Kryszewski was east bound on I-24 in the passing lane and Mrs. Lisa Pye was also east bound in the slow lane. Mrs. Kryszewski was driving an Oak Grove Police Department vehicle, transporting two juveniles from Paducah to Hopkinsville. An unidentified vehicle changed lanes in front of Mrs. Kryszewski causing her to apply the brakes and steer to the left. Her vehicle left the roadway, before she overcorrected, and crossed back into the path of Mrs. Pye. Mrs. Pye's vehicle struck Mrs. Kryszewski's vehicle, causing both vehicles to leave the Interstate and come to final rest in a field. No injuries were reported. Trooper Duvall was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, Marshall County EMS, and the Gilbertsville Fire Department. KSP is reviewing witness statements and attempting to obtain a video in an attempt to determine if the unidentified vehicle made contact with the Kryszewski vehicle prior to it leaving the roadway. KSP requests any witnesses to this collision to please contact KSP Post 1 at (270) 856-3721 or 1-800-222-5555. The investigation is continuing by Senior Trooper Brian Duvall.
