Three arrested in Graves County

Three arrested on 11/21/2011 Shane Chapman Christopher Byrd Courtney Smyth

(Lynnville, KY) -- Kentucky State Police arrested three people late Monday night (11/21/2011) after Troopers located illegal drugs and paraphernalia at a residence in South Graves County. Just after 8:30 on Monday night, Troopers traveled to a residence on Schrader Road in Lynnville. Troopers were trying to locate a man in reference to a separate investigation. When Troopers arrived at the residence, they located 42-year-old Shane Chapman in an outbuilding. Mr. Chapman appeared to be fabricating an illegal firearm accessory. Mr. Chapman was detained and during a search of his person, Troopers located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Chapman also had a warrant for assault 4th out of Graves County. After a search warrant was obtained for the property, Troopers located 28-year-old, Christopher Byrd and 30-year-old Courtney Smyth. Each possessed illegal narcotics at the time of the search. Mr. Byrd and Ms. Smyth were each charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. All arrestees were lodged in the Graves County Detention Center. The Graves County Sheriff's Office and The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives assisted the Kentucky State Police. The investigation is continuing by Trooper David Dick and Trooper Trevor Pervine with the Kentucky State Police.
