Injury collision on the Julian M. Carroll Parkway

(Hickory, Ky.) -- Mr. Scott L. Watson was traveling south in the right lane on the Julian M. Carroll Parkway. Mr. Watson was pulling a small one axle trailer carrying a bail of hay. The trailer was not equipped with tail lights or a slow moving vehicle emblem. Mrs. April M. Williams was also traveling south on the Julian M. Carroll Parkway, when she struck the rear of Mr. Watson's trailer that was in front of her. The collision caused Mr. Watson to travel off the right side of the road, causing the vehicle to overturn and ejecting Mr. Watson. Mr. Watson was transported to the Marshall County Hospital by Marshall County EMS, where he was then flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. It is reported that he is in stable condition. The southbound lanes of the Julian M. Carroll Parkway was closed for approximately one and a half hours. Mrs. Williams was cited for operating on suspended or revoked license. The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Green. Assisting agencies were Marshall County EMS, Marshall County Sheriffs Department, Calvert City Police Department, Gilbertsville Fire Department, Calvert City Fire Department, Palma Fire Department, and Kentucky State Highway Department.
