Bomb Threat at the Calloway County High School

(Calloway County, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police are continuing to investigate a bomb threat at the Calloway County High School. A note was found in the school just after 10:30am this morning (09/13/2011). All students and faculty were evacuated from the building at the request of the Calloway County school administration.

Troopers with the Kentucky State Police (KSP), officers with the Calloway County Sheriffs Department, Murray Police Department, MSU Police and Tennessee Highway Patro's (THP) Canine Section responded to the scene. Note: THP provided an explosive canine due to KSP's canine being away in training, out of the Post 1 district.

Officers conducted a search of the school property and did not locate any suspicious or explosive devices. At approximately 1:45 pm, all students and faculty were admitted back into the building at the direction of school administration.

The Kentucky State Police continues to investigate this incident and are seeking to determine the person(s) who are responsible for the threat. If anyone has any information concerning this incident, you are asked to contact KSP at (270)856-3721 or 1-800-222-5555.
