Two arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

(Mayfield, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police, Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, Murray Police Department, and DEA conducted a drug investigation that led to a large amount of methamphetamine being recovered with a street value of $15,000 dollars. Howard Garland of Murray, KY and Andrew Griffin of Puryear, TN were arrested after a traffic stop and a subsequent search of their vehicle produced a large amount of crystal methamphetamine, cash, and drug paraphernalia. A search warrant was obtained for Mr. Garland's residence in Calloway County and additional amounts of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was seized.
Mr. Garland was charged with three counts of Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st degree 1st offense (Meth) > two grams, Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st degree 1st offense (Meth) < two grams, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Mr. Griffin was charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st degree 1st offense (Meth) > two grams.
Mr. Garland and Mr. Griffin have been lodged in the Christian County Jail. The investigation continues by Detective Donald Bowman of the Kentucky State Police and the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force.
