Fatal ATV collision on Linton Road in Trigg County

(Murray, Ky) -- Mr. Benjamin S. Papajeski and Mr. Ronald L. Smith Jr, were both traveling east on Linton Road near the Linton Fire Department. Mr. Smith stopped to make a left hand turn into the Linton Fire Department parking lot, Mr. Papajeski could not avoid the collision with Mr. Smith and struck his ATV in the rear. Mr. Papajeski passenger, (Ms. Lisa D. Williams), was ejected from the ATV and was pronounced dead on the scene. Mr. Papajeski was treated on scene by Trigg County Ambulance Service and later airlifted to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville Tennessee. Mr. Smith was also treated on scene and refused transport, but was later taken by private vehicle to Trigg County Hospital and treated for minor injuries. Trigg County Sheriff's Department, Rescue, and Ambulance Service assisted Kentucky State Police on scene. The investigation continues with Trooper Cory Hamby.
