One injured in a single vehicle collision on I-24

(Hickory, Ky.) -- Mr. James Huston was pulling a 25 ft camper trailer going westbound on I-24, as he approached the southbound off ramp of the Jackson Purchase Parkway, traffic was backed up due to construction. In an attempt to avoid colliding with stopped traffic, he veered off the roadway and struck a road sign knocking it down before coming to final rest on the I-24 onramp to the Jackson Purchase Parkway. The Purchase Parkway was blocked for approximately 1 hour and Mr. Huston's wife (Rita Huston) was transported to Western Baptist for non-life threatening injuries by Marshall County EMS. Trooper Thomas was assisted on scene by Safe Patrol, Marshall County EMS, Palma-Briensburg Fire Department and the State Highway Department.
