McCracken County Death Investigation

(Paducah, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police are currently investigating the death of an inmate at the McCracken County Jail. Deputy Jailers located Mark A. Bagwell, a 47 year-old Paducah resident, unresponsive in his cell at approximately 5:00 AM this morning (04/08/2011). Mr. Bagwell had been arrested for Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place by Paducah Police Department and booked into the jail at approximately 3:00 AM. The investigation has not disclosed any suspicion of foul play. Mr. Bagwell was the sole occupant in his cell during the time he was lodged in the jail. Mr. Bagwell was transported to Madisonville by the McCracken County Coroners Office for an autopsy shortly after being pronounced dead. Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by Mercy Regional EMS and McCracken County Coroners Office. The investigation continues at this time by Detective Kyle Nall of the Kentucky State Police.
