Fatal collision on KY 1497 in Calloway County

(Mayfield, Ky.) -- Ms. Tammie Y. Lusk was traveling east bound on KY 1497 (Murray Paris Rd), approaching the intersection of KY 121. Ms. Lusk made a left turn onto KY 121, failing to yield the right of way to Mr. Richard A. Williams Jr.. Ms. Lusk's vehicle was struck in the driver's side door. After impact the tractor trailer overturned spilling its load of salt onto the roadway. Mr. Williams had minor bruising but refused treatment at the scene. Ms. Lusk was transported to the Murray/Calloway County Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Kentucky State Police were assisted at the scene by the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, Murray Police Department, Murray Fire Department, Calloway Fire & Rescue, Calloway DES, Kentucky Department of Highways, and Murray/Calloway EMS. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Stephen Humphreys and Master Trooper Christopher Anderson.
