Vehicle pursuit ends in arrest of McCracken County man

(West Paducah, Ky.) -- A McCracken County man was arrested Thursday Afternoon after a lengthy vehicle pursuit throughout the City of Paducah and west McCracken County. At approximately 10:30 AM, a McCracken County Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a silver, Honda Civic for speeding on Alben Barkley Drive in Paducah. The vehicle fled from the Deputy, and visual contact was lost. Numerous complaints began coming in of the vehicle's reckless driving; however, the vehicle was unable to be successfully located. At approximately 11:45 AM Kentucky State Police were requested to assist in locating the Civic which had fled officers earlier. KSP, Paducah City Police and McCracken County Deputies located the vehicle traveling west on Park Avenue near Noble Park. Officers again attempted to stop the vehicle; however, the Honda Civic continued to evade officers, and traveled at a high rate of speed into the Kentucky Oaks Mall area where it was located by other McCracken County Deputies and Paducah City Police officers. State Police began pursuing the vehicle after it left the city limits of Paducah. The Civic continued to evade officers and began traveling west on US Highway 60. Vehicle speeds reached in excess of 100 miles per hour while on US Highway 60. The pursuit reached State Route 996 where officers terminated the pursuit near the Heath School Complex. The vehicle was again spotted traveling east on Woodville Road (KY 725). KSP reinitiated pursuit of the vehicle on Woodville Road. At approximately 12:24 PM a McCracken County Deputy successfully deployed a tire deflation device which partially disabled the vehicle on Woodville Road. The Civic failed to negotiate a curve, and became completely disabled after turning west onto Old Cairo Road (KY 305). At 12:25 PM the driver of the vehicle was taken into custody by Kentucky State Police without incident. Arrested was 24-year-old, Darin Tisdale of Paducah. Tisdale was charged with two counts of Speeding (26 mph over limit), Fleeing and Evading Police 1st Degree, two counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, Aggravated DUI 2nd Offense, and Possession of an Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in a Vehicle. Tisdale was lodged in the McCracken County Detention Center. Additional charges are pending from the Paducah City Police and McCracken County Sheriff's Office. Cooperation from the McCracken County Sheriff's Office and the Paducah City Police assisted in the safe and successful conclusion of the pursuit.
