Marshall County man arrested for theft

Date of News Release: 01/14/2011

James Bradley Anderson

(Benton, Ky.) -- A Marshall County man has been arrested after a lengthy Kentucky State Police investigation. In mid November, Kentucky State Police received an anonymous complaint regarding the alleged misuse of funds from the North Marshall Water District in Marshall County. The initial investigation determined that James Bradley Anderson, Superintendent of the North Marshall Water District, withheld over $4000.00 in payments for water district services. The investigation revealed that Anderson kept a majority of the payment in cash and deposited the rest into his personal banking account. On Thursday, January 13th, a State Police detective testified before a Marshall County Grand Jury which later handed down a single indictment for Theft by Unlawful Taking Over $500. Anderson, 33, was arrested on Thursday afternoon and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center. The investigation is continuing by Detective Steve Silfies of the Kentucky State Police.
