Sexual Abuse 1st Degree Investigation

(Henderson, KY) -- On Tuesday, December 27, 2011, Kentucky State Police Detective Matt Wise charged 42 year-old Jeffery D. Vaughn of Owensboro with ten (10) counts of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree and ten (10) counts of Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 1st Degree (Illegal Sex Act). Both are felony charges.

The investigation was initiated by the Kentucky State Police when the victim reported the abuse, which occurred in 1988-1990. At that time, the female victim was a juvenile during these alleged occurrences, which occurred in Utica (Ohio County).

On, Tuesday, December 20, 2011, the five month investigation was presented to the Ohio County Grand Jury which issued the indictment warrants. Vaughn is being held in the Ohio County Detention Center in Hartford.
