Pursuit & Arrest in Daviess/McLean Counties

(Henderson, Ky.) -- The Daviess County Sheriff's Office initiated a pursuit involving a white Nissan pickup being operated by Bennett on State Highway 81 in Western Daviess County. The vehicle led officers into McLean County, where Trooper Juan Moorman and McLean County Sheriff's Department began pursuing the vehicle once it crossed into McLean County. The pursuit led the Trooper and deputy to the intersection of State Route 250 & U.S. Highway 431 in Livermore where the vehicle came to a stop. Trooper Moorman and McLean County deputy McCoy approached the vehicle, in which Bennett refused to exit. Moorman and McCoy extricated Bennett from the vehicle and Bennett was arrested by Trooper Moorman and lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
Bennett was charged with Fleeing or Evading-1st Degree, Speeding 26 MPH or more over the limit, Careless driving, Failure to wear seatbelt, Resisting arrest, Driving Under the Influence-1st Offense (Aggravated),Assault on a police officer-3rd degree.
