Wanton endangerment-1st degree involving police officer

(Henderson, Ky.) -- Trooper Newman & Trooper Pryor were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint on KY 144. Noah D. Boswell approached the checkpoint while driving a 1988 Dodge pickup. Mr. Boswell failed to stop and almost struck both Troopers with his vehicle. Mr. Boswell continued to travel on KY 2181 while being pursued by Troopers. During the pursuit, Mr. Boswell exited the right shoulder of the roadway causing property damage, and then struck a tree with his vehicle. Mr. Boswell fled on foot from the scene. OPD K-9 responded and Mr. Boswell was apprehended by Trooper Pryor and Officer Morgan with the Owensboro Police Department. Mr. Boswell was charged with Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree Police Officer (2 Counts)/Fleeing & Evading Police-1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)/DUI-1st Off (Aggravated Circumstance)/Criminal Mischief-3rd Degree/Resisting Arrest/Failure to wear seatbelt/Possession of open alcohol container in a motor vehicle/Failure of non-owner to maintain insurance-1st offense/No registration plates/Warrant execution for parole violation. Mr. Boswell suffered minor injury from the apprehension by the K-9.
