Adair County Pursuit leads to recovery of Drugs and Arrest

(Columbia, KY) -- On Monday, November 21 at approximately 9:06 CST Tpr. Dewayne Holder observed a black 1998 Chevy 2-DR traveling south on KY 0055. Tpr. Holder identified the driver as a subject with outstanding warrants and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle fled onto the Louie B. Nunn Parkway traveling east when Tpr. Holder observed something being thrown out of the car into the emergency lane. A short distance later, the vehicle pulled over. Tpr. Holder secured the occupant's without further incident and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of over $10,000.00 in cash and a 9MM handgun. Tpr. Holder also recovered apporximately 4 oz. of suspected cocaine from the eastbound emergency lane of the Parkway.

24-year-old Adrian Morales of Russell Springs was arrested and charged with Speeding, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Fleeing and Evading, DUI Aggravated, No Operator's License, No Insurance and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon.

24-year-old Heaven Sutton of Russell Springs was arrested and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon.

Both were lodged in the Adair County Jail. The investigation is on going.
