Taylor County Pursuit & Arrest

(Campbellsville, Ky.) -- Tpr. Fred Cornett was involved in a pursuit Saturday, November 19 that resulted in the arrest of 42-year-old Anthony Tyrone Graves of Lebanon. At approximately 10:30 AM EDT Tpr. Cornett observed a 1998 Nissan traveling East on US 0068 in Taylor County speeding. Tpr. Cornett attempted to stop the vehicle when the operator, Mr. Graves, refused and sped away. Tpr. Cornett pursued Mr. Graves into Marion County onto KY 0337 where Mr. Graves lost control of his vehicle and ran off of the roadway into a ditch. Tpr. Cornett attempted to block Mr. Graves vehicle from re-entering the roadway. Mr. Graves then drove his car into the side of Tpr. Cornett's cruiser and fled again. Mr. Graves drove a few miles from the collison, parked in a private drive and fled on foot. Marion County deputies apprehended Mr. Graves on foot and detained him until Troopers arrived.

Mr. Graves was charged with Speeding, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st degree, Fleeing and Evading 1st degree, Reckless Driving, Improper Passing, Driving on Suspended Operator's License, Failure to Wear Seatbelt, Failure to use Turn Signal, Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle, Possession of Controlled Substance, No Insurance and No Insurance Card. He was lodged in the Marion County Detention Center.

Tpr. Cornett was not injured and the investigation is on going.
