Update on the Church fire prompts arson investigation in Russell County

(Columbia, KY) - Kentucky State Police Detective, Alex Wesley has arrested Coleman Ray Miller, age 19 of Jamestown in regards to the arson investigation at Coffey Hill Friendship Church. While conducting a neighborhood canvas, Detective Wesley was able to recover several items taken from the Church and subsequently charged Miller with arson 2nd degree, burglary 2nd degree, criminal mischief 1st degree, and receiving stolen property. Miller was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center. Detective Wesley was assisted by the Russell County Sheriff's Department.

Church fire prompts arson investigation in Russell County

(Russell County, KY) - Kentucky State Police in Columbia are currently investigating a church fire in Russell County on Coffey Hill Church Road. The Coffey Hill Friendship Church suffered moderate fire and smoke damage to the interior of the church.

Upon further investigation, State Police discovered that the arson apparently occurred after the commission of a burglary and vandalism to the church. The ATF, FBI and State Fire Marshall's office were notified and are assisting in the investigation along with the Russell County Sheriff's Office. The fire remains under investigation by Detective Alex Wesley of the Kentucky State Police.
