Pedestrian injured when struck by a vehicle in Monroe County

(Monroe County, KY) - On October 8, 2011 Trooper Jonathan Paull responded to a collision involving a pedestrian that occurred on Kentucky Route 63, 1 mile south of Gamaliel. John W. Page, age 72 of Tompkinsville, was operating a 2005 Buick northbound on KY 63 when James Earl Ryherd, age 21 of Gamaliel, ran into his path on the roadway and was struck. Mr. Ryherd was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in serious condition.

John Page and wife Jean Page were both belted and were not injured.

This incident is still under investigation by Trooper Jonathan Paull.
