Date of News Release: 11/30/2011

(Ashland, KY) -- Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland, with all other posts across the state, is conducting the "Cram the Cruiser" campaign. Post 14 is now accepting non perishable food items to be given to local shelters, churches and those in need.

Post 14 Ashland had a State Police cruiser weighed by the KSP division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement prior to the start of the campaign. Once the cruiser is filled with food items, it will be weighed again and compared with other posts across the state to see which post obtained the most food items. The KSP in Ashland asks that anyone that wants to participate in this food drive to drop off non perishable items at Post 14 Ashland. . Suggested donations include canned fruit and vegetables, canned meat, macaroni and cheese, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, canned soups, chili or spaghetti sauce, brownie and cake mixes, coffee, powdered milk and juices. For more information you may call (606)928-6421. Donations can be accepted at anytime from now until December 12th. Last year Post 14 collected 650 pounds of non perishable food.
