Update to the Death Investigation in Carter County

Date of News Release: 11/19/2011

(Ashland, KY) -- The Kentucky State Police have identified the victim located in a wooded area just off of KY 1496 in Willard. Tammy K. Ratcliff, age 29, of Olive Hill, KY was pronounced dead this morning by the Carter County Coroner at 0918 hours. Ratcliff was located about 1/2 mile up an old logging road off of KY 1496 near the Carter County-Lawrence County line. She was located by family members who had been deer hunting in the area. Ms. Ratcliff had been missing since Wednesday. The cause of death is undetermined at this time pending an autopsy which is scheduled for tomorrow morning at the state medical examiner's office in Frankfort.

Death Investigation in Carter County

Date of News Release: 11/19/2011

(Ashland, KY) -- Detectives at the Kentucky State Police in Ashland are conducting an investigation into the discovery of a deceased adult female located in a wooded area of KY 1496 near Willard, Ky (Carter County). The female was located by a family member early this morning and Carter County 911 was notified. The Kentucky State Police was notified around 0930 hours this morning.
