Stolen Truck-Tractor Investigation in Greenup, KY

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland is investigating a motor vehicle theft that occurred at the Marathon Truck Stop in Greenup, KY. The theft occurred around 0300 hours on the 9th in the rear parking lot of the truck stop. The suspects unhooked the trailer from the truck-tractor and drove the truck-tractor off the lot. Security footage shows two males near and inside the vehicle. The truck was locked; however, it appears the suspects had a similar or a like key in order to gain entry.
The vehicle was owned and operated by Roy D. Murphy of Raceland, KY. The truck-tractor is a 2005 Peterbilt Conventional style CAB/Sleeper with dual chrome 8" bull-hauler stacks. It is also described as medium blue color. The Kentucky registration is A10431.
