One injured in a two vehicle collision near the junction of Culp Creek Road and the Industrial Parkway

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland is investigating a two vehicle injury collision that occurred on 9-21-2011. The collision occurred at approximately 2 PM near the junction of Culp Creek Road and the Industrial Parkway. Tracy Hensley, age 37 of Catlettsburg, KY was traveling North on the Industrial Parkway. She was driving a 1995 Buick passenger car. Thurman Workman, age 64 of Wurtland, KY, was operating a 2003 Kawasaki Motorcycle and was also traveling north.

Ms. Hensley pulled off onto the shoulder of the road in an attempt to do a U-Turn. She pulled into the path of Mr. Workman causing the collision. Mr. Workman was not hearing a helmet and sustained multiple injuries. He was subsequently airlifted by KDMC to Cabell-Huntington Medical Center where he is still in critical condition. Ms. Hensley and her passenger (Leslie Hensley age 35) were not injured and were both wearing seatbelts.

The collision is being investigated by Trooper Daniel Vossmer.
