Armed Robbery Occurs in Perry County

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On December 29, 2011 at approximately 2:15 a.m. Kentucky State Police Post 13 at Hazard received a call of an armed robbery at Hazard Double Kwik in Perry County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that an unknown male subject entered the store, brandished a handgun and demanded money.

After receiving the money the perpetrator fled the scene on foot and may have left in a passenger car, make and model unknown. The perpetrator was described as approximately 5'5" in height with a thin build. He was wearing a blue hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans, black gloves, black mask and dark sunglasses. The perpetrator left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries occurred during the incident.
