Two Arrested In Knott County Church Burglary

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On November 28, 2011 Sgt. Tim Mullins and Tpr. Cassandra Mullins were patrolling in the early morning hours in the Sassafras Community of Knott County.
A suspicious vehicle was located in the parking lot of Little Dove Baptist Church. Troopers began to investigate the vehicle when they located two male subjects at the location. During preliminary investigation the vehicle contained various items of scrap type metal and copper tubing. Further investigation proved that the copper tubing had been removed from four heating and air conditioning units belonging to the church. The two male subjects also had in their possession burglar tools.
Bradley E. Day age 32 of Littcarr, Ky. and Jonathan E. Cornett age 20 of Sassafras, Ky. were arrested at the scene. Both perpetrators were charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Possession of Burglar Tools, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, and Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $500 and lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Detention Center.
