Leslie County Arson Investigation

(Hazard, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police responded to the residence of Kermit D. Davidson at 1766 Davidson Fork Road in the Thousandsticks Community of Leslie County. At approximately 4:01 A.M. the homeowner reported glass being broken out of his residence by a rock which was followed by a Molotov cocktail bomb being thrown through the broken window. The bomb failed to explode but did result in a small fire which was extinguished by the homeowner. The residence had two occupants which were unharmed during this incident. The homeowner reported seeing a male subject fleeing his residence on a ATV, however; no clothing or physical description could be determined due to darkness. Troopers from Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard responded to the residence and were assisted by the Leslie County Sheriff's Department. Det. Gary Sandlin with KSP Post 13 in Hazard is in charge of the investigation.
