One Injured in Perry County Shooting

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On August 29, 2011 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Kentucky State Police in Hazard received a call of a shooting at Clark's Liquor Store on KY 80, in the Avawam community of Perry County. KSP officers responded to the scene, and obtained information that Ronnie W. Clark had sustained injuries after being struck by shotgun fire. It was learned that Ronnie W. Clark had been involved in an altercation with his son, Ronald K. Clark, in which the son fired several shots at his father. Ronnie W. Clark was transported to Hazard ARH, where he remains in stable condition at this time. Ronald K. Clark fled the scene prior to Troopers arrival, and his whereabouts remains unknown. Warrants have been obtained on Ronald K. Clark for Assault 1st degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree. This incident remains under investigation by KSP Detective Randy Combs.
