Two Arrested On Assault Charges In Knott County

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On April 21, 2011 at approximately 03:20 a.m. Kentucky State Police in Hazard received a 911 call stating that a male had been assaulted and a female had been sexually assaulted at a residence at Potato Branch in the Topmost community of Knott County. The victims were contacted by state police at the St. Joseph East E.R. in Martin Ky. Preliminary investigation indicates that Wesley Martin, age 35 of Wayland, Ky. and Robby Dwain Allen, age 33 of Dema, Ky. had assaulted the victims at a residence at Topmost and fled the scene. Arrest warrants were obtained on the accused and both were arrested without incident. Both Martin and Allen were charged with Rape 1st Degree and Assault 2nd Degree and lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Detention Center. The victims names are not being released at this time and the investigation is continuing by Det. Doug Gay.
