Traffic Stop Leads to a Multi Week Drug Investigation

(Frankfort, Ky.) -- On October 30, 2011 Tpr. Jeremy Devasher conducted a traffic stop in Georgetown, which results in the arrest of Kasey Nichols, age 27 of Georgetown, KY on warrants and possession of a controlled Substance 1st. Additional investigation from the traffic stop initiated a multi week investigation by Trooper's at the Frankfort Post. The investigation uncovered that Mrs. Nichols along with two other Scott County residents Jacky Ashby, age 44 and Jodi Ashby, age 35 both of Georgetown, KY, had fraudulently obtained Florida ID cards and driver license for the purpose of obtaining controlled substances. The investigation revealed that the Ashby's had obtain controlled substances in multiple location in Florida since 2009. The controlled substances were transported back to Kentucky for sale.

A search of their Scott County residence leads to the discovery of numerous prescription bottles recently filled in Florida. Various pills such as Percocet, Loratab and Xanax were seized. There were 13 firearms and over $4,000.00 in cash was confiscated. Various documents including Florida driver's licenses were seized.

On Tuesday, November 22, 2011 warrants were obtained on Mr. and Mrs. Ashby charging them with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st (more than 10 dose units), Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 2nd (more than 20 dose units) and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 3rd (more than 20 dose units). They were both lodged in the Scott County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police.
