Franklin County pursuit and drug arrest

(Frankfort, Ky.) -- Two men are facing numerous traffic and criminal charges after a Franklin County pursuit. On Saturday, November 27, 2011 at 5:34 PM Sgt. Kenny Stewart attempted to stop a white 2004 Ford Expedition on I-64 at the 47 mile marker, for failure to illuminate headlamps.

The driver refused to pull over and the pursuit began. The eluding vehicle traveled eastbound on I-64 and exited the 53A I-64 exit. The vehicle traveled southbound on US-127 and next traveled though a residential neighborhood before returning to northbound US-127. The pursuit continued northbound US-127 to KY- 676 (Frankfort East West Connector) and onto Glenns Creek Road. On Glenns Creek Road the eluding vehicle struck a guardrail and became disabled.

Two males exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The passenger Raymond Jackson, age 20, of Louisville, KY was captured quickly by a Franklin County Deputy. The driver Tony Maddox Jr., age 26, of Frankfort, KY was soon captured by Frankfort Police Department and their K-9.

The passenger Raymond Jackson was lodged in the Franklin County Detention Center. He is facing Fleeing Evading 2nd charges. KSP also executed warrants for Contempt of Court on Jackson.

The driver Tony Maddox Jr., became ill and was taken to the Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort. Upon his release from the hospital he will be lodged in the Franklin County Detention Center. He is facing Fleeing and Evading 1st and 2nd charges, Possession of Marijuana (over 8oz), Trafficking in Marijuana, Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapon, 5 counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st charges, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Criminal Mischief 3rd, 3 counts of Disregarding a Stop sign and Disregarding a Traffic Control Device.

The investigation is continuing by The Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post.
