Scott County Meth Lab Investigation

(Frankfort, KY.) -- On Sunday, September 18, 2011, at approximately, 10:41 PM the Georgetown Police Department responded to a complaint at 725 East College Street in Georgetown, KY. Georgetown Officers found chemicals used in manufacturing methamphetamine. The Georgetown Police Department requested assistance with the meth investigation and cleanup from the Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post. The Kentucky State Police Clandestine Lab Cleanup Team responded and dismantled the lab. There were no children present at the residence.

Angela M. Bennett, age 23, of Georgetown KY, was arrested and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st degree. She was lodged in the Scott County Detention Center.

The Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post is being assisted by the Georgetown Police Department and the Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigation Branch. The investigation is continuing by the Frankfort Post.

In 2011 there has been 6 reported Meth Labs in Scott County. In 2010 there was 1 reported Meth Lab in Scott County. As of September 13, 2011, there has been 822 reported Meth Labs in Kentucky. In the same time period for 2010 there was 670 reported Meth Labs. Statewide there has been a 20 percent increases in Meth Lab from 2010 to 2011.
