Indictment for Manslaughter in Taylorsville, KY

(Frankfort, KY.) -- The Kentucky State Police have concluded their investigation of a September 30, 2010 fatal collision in Taylorsville, KY. On September 30, 2010 Paul Pegram was riding his bicycle on KY 248 east of Taylorsville when he was struck by a vehicle being operated by Daryl Fogel of Taylorsville. Pegram died as a result of the injuries that he sustained during the collision.

The Kentucky State Police Collision Reconstruction Team headed up the investigation and presented their findings to a Spencer County Grand Jury on September 7, 2011. The Spencer County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Daryl Fogel with Manslaughter 2nd Degree. Fogel was issued a summons to appear before the court on October 6, 2011 to answer to the charge.

Manslaughter 2nd Degree is a Class C Felony punishable by 5-10 years in prison.

Paul Pegram was a police officer with the Louisville Metro Police Department at the time he was killed.
