Update on Franklin County Injury Collision US-127 North on October 31, 2010

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- Dennis Giles age 46 of Frankfort was arrested on May 23, 2011 after being indicted by the Franklin County Grand Jury. The indictment was the result of a collision investigation on US 127 north at Peaks Mill on 10-31-2010. Mr. Giles and two other subjects sustained serious injuries in the head on collision. Mr. Giles was booked into the Franklin County Detention Center for the following charges DUI Aggravated, Assault 1st (2 counts), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of open Alcohol in a vehicle and Reckless Driving.

Franklin County Injury Collision US-127 North

Date of News Release: 11/01/2010

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- On Sunday, October 31, 2010 an injury collision occurred in Franklin County on US-127 North (Owenton Rd). A 1992 BMW being driven by Dennis M. Giles was southbound on US-127 in the northbound lane. A 2000 Toyota 4 Runner being driven Mark A. Weber was northbound on US-127 when the vehicles collided head on. The driver Mr. Giles was flown to UK Hospital in Lexington. The driver Mark A. Weber and passenger Mary J. Weber were taken to the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Weber was then flown to the University of Louisville Hospital. Alcohol is a possible contributing factor in the collision. The collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort.
