Post 12 Frankfort Pursuit Leads to the Arrest of a Wanted Person

(Frankfort, Ky.) -- On Friday morning, March 11, 2011 at 1:42 AM Tpr. Brian Smith observed and attempted to stop a vehicle traveling at 93 MPH eastbound. The vehicle exited I-64 at the 65 mile marker and returned to I-64 westbound in Woodford County. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop. The eluding vehicle continued west on I-64 into Franklin County. The Franklin County Sheriff's Deputies successfully deployed spike strips deflating one of the eluding vehicle front tires. The driver of the eluding vehicle continued fleeing west on I-64. Three miles later the driver stops his vehicle and runs into a wooded area on the westbound side on I-64. A perimeter was established after losing sight of the suspect.
The Frankfort Police Department canine unit was able to establish a track and the suspect was located hiding in a tree. The investigation revealed that the driver Arron Moore was under the influence and that he had stolen the vehicle earlier that day out of Louisville, KY.
Arron Moore, age 27, of Louisville, KY, is charged with two counts of Fleeing and Evading 1st, DUI 1st, Possession of Marijuana, Speeding, Reckless Driving and several other traffic charges.
He also wanted on four felony warrants out of Louisville for Robbery 1st, Unlawful Imprisonment and two counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (cocaine). He has been lodged in the Franklin County Detention Center. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post.
