Drug Arrest and Investigation in Laurel County

(LONDON, KY.) –- On Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at approximately 5:53 PM, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a complaint of possible drug activity at a residence on 16th Street, in the city limits of London.
Upon arrival Trooper's detected a strong odor, later identified as Marijuana, emanating from the residence and upon making contact with a male subject inside the home, observed drug paraphernalia in plain view.
A search warrant for the residence was obtained and a subsequent search uncovered five (5) ounces of Marijuana, 59 Lortab tablets and various other items of paraphernalia.
Arrested at the scene was Kenneth J. Vaughn, 18, of Corbin, charged with Possession of Marijuana, Prescription Controlled Substance not in Original Container-1st offense, Possession of a Controlled Substance-1st degree-1st offense, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor (Vaughn's five (5) year old sibling was present and released to another family member).
Additional charges are expected pending Grand Jury action.
Trooper Lunsford is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by KSP Trooper's Mike King, Chris Roberts, Ryan Loudermilk and Jason McCowan.
