DUI motor vehicle collision in Rockcastle County

(Mt. Vernon, Ky.) -- On Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 6:52 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 11, London responded to assist the Rockcastle County Sheriff's Department in stopping a vehicle traveling north bound in the south bound lane of I-75 near Mt. Vernon. Prior to being stopped, the vehicle, a 1996 Dodge pickup, being operated by James Perkins, age 68, of Eubank, crashed into a 2012 Lexus, traveling south bound, operated by Geanee Hochman, age 70, of Dayton Ohio. Ms. Hochman and a passenger in her vehicle, James Hochman, age 70, of Dayton, Ohio were not injured.
Mr. Perkins was transported by EMS to the Rockcastle County Hospital for treatment of suspected injuries. Mr. Perkins is charged with Dui, Possession Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree and Improperly Turning Driving or Entering a Limited Access Highway. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Scottie Pennington.
