Fatal Traffic Crash/Murder Arrest in Clay County

(London, Ky.) -- On Friday, September 02, 2011 at approximately 1:24 AM, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report of a deceased person on US 421 at the bottom of the Burning Springs Hill in Clay County.

Upon arrival Trooper John Barnett determined that the victim, Mike Hacker, 35, of Manchester had been struck by a motor vehicle and began an investigation into the incident.

Through the course of the investigation Trooper Barnett responded to the residence of Mr. Hacker's girlfriend, Marita B. Sizemore, 44, of Manchester. Upon arrival Trooper Barnett observed damage to Ms. Sizemore's car that was consistent with that of a hit and run vehicle.

Trooper Barnett arrested Ms. Sizemore and lodged her in the Clay County Detention Center on the charge of Murder.

Trooper Barnett is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by officers of the Kentucky State Police, the Kentucky State Police Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, the Clay County Sheriff's Department and the Clay County Coroner's Office.
