Sexual assault investigation and arrest in Whitley County

(London, Ky.) -- On June 30, 2011 at approximately 11:39 p.m. the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, London received a report of an alleged Sexual Assault of a child at residence on Browns Creek in Whitley County, KY.

KSP Trooper Raymond D. Foley responded.

After investigation, Trooper Foley learned that a juvenile victim had been sexually assaulted by Steven Douglas, Jr., 57, of Williamsburg. Steven Douglas, Jr. was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of Rape 1st and two counts of Sexual Abuse 1st.

Douglas was lodged in the Whitley County Detention center.

On Friday July 01, 2011 the Kentucky State Police served two search warrants, one at a residence on Browns Creek and one at the Taylor Apartments, where Douglas resides, with additional information being learned.

Trooper Raymond D. Foley is continuing the investigation and was assisted by KSP Detective David Lassiter and the Williamsburg Police Department.
