Arrest in Laurel County

(London, Ky.) -- On Tuesday March 22, 2011 at 12:18 PM the Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received an anonymous report of a person living in Laurel County who failed to register as a sex offender.

Trooper Richie Baxter responded to a residence on Level Green Road, in southern Laurel County, and determined that Amos Lee Riley, 58, of Corbin had been convicted of Lewd or Lascivious offenses committed upon or in the presence of persons less than 16 years of age in the state of Florida.

Trooper Baxter determined that Riley, upon establishing a residence in Corbin, failed to register as a sex offender with the state of Kentucky.

Riley was arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center on the charge of Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration.

Trooper Baxter is in charge of the investigation and was assisted at the scene by Trooper Mike Witt.
