Bell County Forestry Camp Escapees Captured

(Cheona, Ky.) -- On September 10, 2011, Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan received a call from Bell County Forestry Camp stating two inmates had walked away from their facility at approximately 9:30 pm. Jonah Robey, 21 years old, was convicted on burglary charges and serving a 7 year sentence. Jordan Pannell, 20 years old, was convicted of robbery charges and serving a 6 1/2 year sentence. After escaping from Bell County Forestry Camp both subjects had broken into a residence in the Frakes community of Bell County and stole a 1977 Corvette and a 45 caliper semi automatic pistol.

On September 11, 2011, at 11:30 pm. Kentucky State Police Post 4 Elizabethtown contacted Post 10 Harlan and stated their units had located the stolen vehicle and arrested both subjects after a short pursuit on Melrose Road in Hardin County. Both Jonah Robey and Jordan Pannell were lodged in Hardin County Detention Center and charged with Receiving Stolen Property under 10000.00.

Additional charges in Bell County are pending at this time.
