Kidnapping arrest in Bell County

Mark Anthony Burnette(Pineville, Ky.) -- After further investigation by Pineville Police Department, Kentucky State Police Post 10 and the Barbourville Police Department, an arrest was made in connection with the complaints that were received in the Bell County area involving a male subject approaching female subjects in a threatening manner. Arrested was Mark Anthony Burnette, age 48 of Heidrick, KY who was charged with; Kidnapping-adult, Sodomy 1st degree and Criminal Attempt to Commit Kidnapping. After receiving tips from the public, Barbourville Police Department was able to locate Mr. Burnette. Mr. Burnette was charged by Pineville Police Department for the above mentioned crimes and was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.

This case is still under investigation by Chief Bill Matthews of Pineville Police Department.

(Pineville, Ky.) -- Over the past few days, Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan and the Pineville Police Department have received several complaints in the Bell County area. Two white male subjects in a late model black Dodge pickup truck are approaching female subjects in a threatening manner. One of the subjects possibly goes by the name "Mark". Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan would like to make the community aware of this situation.
