Multiple Forgery Arrests Harlan County

(Harlan, Ky.) -- On 02/21/2011 two arrests were made by Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan on a forgery case that was investigated by Trooper Roy Pace. After several months of intense investigations, Trooper Pace was able to obtain an arrest warrant for Paul Anthony Casolari, age 42 of Cumberland, KY. Mr. Casolari was charged with 12 counts of Theft of Identity, 106 counts of Forgery 2nd degree, 8 counts of Theft by Deception over $300, Theft by Unlawful Disposition Auto, Trafficking in Stolen Identities and Persistent Felony Offender 1st. From 2008-2010 while employed at Creech Chevrolet in Harlan, KY as the finance manager, Mr. Casolari was stealing identities of prior customers and using them to purchase vehicles for resale. After purchasing the vehicles, Mr. Casolari would then sell the vehicles in and out of state over the internet. Also arrested was Mr. Casolari's wife, Christy Casolari, age 32 of Cumberland, KY. Mrs. Casolari was charged with 8 counts of Theft by Deception, 12 counts of Theft of Identity of Another, Trafficking in Stolen Identities and Theft by Unlawful Taking Auto. Both subjects were lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
This case is still under investigation by Trooper Roy Pace of Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan.
