Forgery arrest in Harlan County

(Evarts, Ky.) -- On 01/09/11 at 12:54pm, Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan executed a search warrant at the residence of Thomas J. Holden in Evarts, KY. Located during the search were several fraudulently obtained credit cards and a box of blank checks. Thomas J. Holden Thomas J. Holden, age 27 of Evarts, KY was charged with Forgery 2nd degree and lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center. The blank checks were being used in a home printer for counterfeiting purposes and were passed off to multiple businesses. This investigation stemmed from a complaint received from the Harlan County Court House where Thomas Holden paid a traffic fine with one of the counterfeit checks. Other charges are pending in this investigation.

This case is still under investigation by Detective Michael Cornett of Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan.
