Fatal collision on US 460 in Regina, KY

(Regina, Ky.) -- On Friday December 17, 2010 Post 9 Pikeville received a call of a three vehicle accident with injuries on US 460 in the Regina community. KSP units arrived on scene and determined that the 1993 Toyota Camry driven by 27 year old Jeffrey Mullins of Pikeville crossed the centerline and was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of US 460 and struck a 2002 Honda Accord driven by 55 year old Janice Baker of Elkhorn City, KY. Janice Baker along with her two passengers, 76 year old Marie Stiltner of Elkhorn City and 57 year old Linda Walker were transported to Pikeville Medical Center for their injuries. Janice Baker and Linda Walker were transported from PMC to UK Medical Center. Marie Stiltner was pronounced dead at PIkeville Medical Center.

A 2003 Ford Escape driven by Joseph Sussan of Shelbiana was also struck by mullins vehicle. Sussan was not injured in the collision.

Jeffrey Mullins was transported to PMC where he was treated and released and then lodged in the Pike County Detention Center. Mr. Mullins was charged with Manslaughter 2nd Degree, Driving on suspended license, possession of schedule 1 narcotic, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no insurance.

This incident remains under investigation by TFC Eddie Crum and Detective Jason Merlo. These units were assisted on scene by Tpr. Johnny Slone, Sgt Keith Justice CVE, Marrowbone Fire Department, Elkhorn City Ambulance and DHP Ambulance Service.
