One killed in a collision on KY 377 in Rowan County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- At 1915 hours on 11/28/2010 K.S.P. Post 8 Morehead received a report of a multi-vehicle fatality accident from Morehead Police Department Dispatch. Trooper David Zimmerman, Trooper Jason Brown, and Sergeant Rob Conn responded to the scene along with Accident Reconstructionist, Detective Toby Gardner. Justin A. Robinson of Olive Hill was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on KY 377 when he crossed the centerline and struck a southbound 2002 Chrysler sedan operated by Lance O'Cull of Vanceburg. After striking O'Cull's vehicle unit 1 came to rest in the northbound lane facing southbound.

Anna M. Richmond of Vanceburg was traveling northbound in a 1998 Oldsmobile sedan when she collided with unit 1 causing the vehicle to turn back northbound and come to rest on the northbound shoulder. Richmond then continued traveling northbound across the southbound lane coming to rest in a culvert. Karie L. Huynh of Olive Hill, a passenger of unit 1, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased by Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt at Saint Claire Medical Center. Robinson and O'Cull were airlifted from the accident scene and flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington where they are both listed in serious condition. Richmond was transported to Saint Claire Medical Center in Morehead where she was treated and later released. The accident remains under investigation by Detective Toby Gardner.
