Robbery 1st Investigation and Arrest

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On October 19, 2010 at 5:52 P.M. the Kentucky State Police in Morehead received a complaint in reference to a robbery complaint on Ramey Ridge Road in Morehead. Trooper David Zimmerman and Trooper Michael Wathen responded to the complaint and were advised that a juvenile female was stopped by three subjects who stated that they needed to use her cell phone. The victim then gave them the phone and pulled off the side of the road while they subjects were using her phone. While she was waiting for them to use her phone, Gina Sapp and Jessica Hayes approached the car and demanded that he victim give them her purse. The victim refused to give them her purse and a struggle ensued over the purse. During the struggle the victim was assaulted and sustained injuries to her head and knee. During the altercation another vehicle pulled up to assist at which time the suspects fled the scene.

On October 20, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Jessica Hayes and John Hacker were arrested at their residence at 5725 US 60 East in Morehead. At 12:30 P.M. Gina Sapp was arrested at her residence at 1045 Christian Street Lot #4 in Morehead. All three subjects were charged with one count of Robbery 1st Degree and lodged at the Rowan County Detention Center. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper David Zimmerman.
